Mae gwyl Hafod Hwyl yn dod a thalent o'r ardal lleol ac o bell i leoliad hudolus a phrydferth, ym Mhontarfynach. Bydd yna ystad eang o gerddoriaeth i'w fwynhau, o'r traddodiadol Cymreig i'r seiniau roc diweddaraf.

Yn ogystal a'r brif Babell Cerdd, bydd yna Babell Acwstig yn agored o 6 o'r gloch, er mwyn i chwi ddod ag offeryn a chael 'jam'.

Bydd y Pabell Gerdd yn rhedeg o 2 o'r gloch y p'nawn hyd at hanner nos.

 

From a site over-looking spectacular scenery, Hafod Hwyl brings you talent from a variety of musical genre, from traditional Welsh to modern rock, from local talent to national gems.

As well as the Music Marquee, the Hwyl also has an Acoustic Tent, open from 6pm, to provide an arena for you and your friends to bring your own instruments and jam along together.

The Music Marquee will be open from 2pm until midnight.

My Favourite Runner Up

Music should be enjoyed... with this band you will hear just how much they enjoy playing it. My Favourite Runner Up are a four piece, energetic, pop punk band from mid Wales. Drawing their influences from such bands as Blink 182 to Taking Back Sunday they are a band to look out for. Already with plenty of gig experience around the UK and a full album, the band are developing a dedicated fan base.

   

The Hittites

The Hittites are an Aberystwyth band creating their own brand of hillbilly pop music. They play their own material plus covers including songs by Woody Guthrie, Meic Stevens and The Cure.

 

   

Tom Waterhouse and Alice Waterhouse

Tom lives in Aberystwyth. His songs are influenced by the British countryside, Bert Jansch, Nick Drake, Oliver Rackham, Bob Dylan, Heartbeat, old peculiar, Rob St John, Sufjan Stevens, Scilly, the Wah Bandits and the Deputy of Funk, Devendra Banhart, Aberystwyth... Tom will be joined on stage by his talented sister Alice to play flute on some of his songs.

   

Eric Gavin

Eric Gavin, singer-songwriter, based in Sudbury, Suffolk, UK, has a varied style of songs: Rock, Reggae, and Country. His influences include Springsteen, Jackson Browne, David Lindley, Brian Ferry, Robert Palmer, Prince Buster and The Skatalites. His music, as a result, is a fusion of those styles in what he always called “Stomp”, which you can dance to, and introspective songs that make you think about life’s hardships and love’s twists. He has worked with some of the world’s top musicians and producers having been based in California, London, Mexico, Greece and the Bahamas.

   

Whiskey Before Breakfast

In various line-ups, Whiskey has been playing in and around Ceredigion for 12 years. Now a three piece, featuring fiddle, guitar and drums, their up-beat Celtic music and covers of old favourites will get your feet tapping and your heart racing.

   

After Midnight

After Midnight was born after a collective of friends got together to play at a party. The gig went really well so they decided to work together again! Emma, Vinnie and Colin have played in various projects together such as "The Craze" and "Twenty Four Seven" where the writing talents of Emma and Rae Richardson worked well together. The main influences for the band are "The Blues" and "Vintage Soul" covering material from Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, T-Bone Walker and Aretha Franklin.

   

Mr Beat

Local 4 piece popular good time band playing classic rock/pop/motown covers. Guaranteed to get you up singing and dancing.

   

Ian Rowlands and Jasper Salmon

Bilingual singer songwriter,Ian Rowlands has been described by t.v broadcaster Lyn Ebenezer as 'one of the most talented undiscovered acts performing in Wales today'. Since then, as a solo artist, appearing with Jasper Salmon, or indeed as part of the trio Triban, he has been going down a storm at gigs both locally and further afield.

   

Washboard Chris

 

Washboard Chris has for many years (too many) specialised in playing country blues music from the 20s and 30s in a one-man-band format. The instruments he plays are guitar, slide guitar, harmonica and ukulele-banjo. He is also one of the only exponents of foot washboard-playing in captivity.

     

Hagen Kiersch

Hagen grew up in Cornwall where he started learning classical and flamenco guitar at the Spanish Guitar Centre. He quickly progressed and passed Grade VIII Classical Guitar at just 16. He found acclaim at local music events and won the guitar section at Cornwall Music Festival three times. Hagen moved on to study in Andalucia, Spain, twice attending Paco Peña’s prestigious summer school. As part of the duo ‘A Touch of Kiersch and Jones’, Hagen played regularly across Cornwall. Since moving to Wales, Hagen has performed at the Small Nations music festival and with Cambria Arts.
 
     

Jess and Dave

Jess and Dave both live in mid-west Wales and
have been writing and performing together for two
years.Their original material is an eclectic mix of
ghost folk, mundo jazz, and Americana tinged road
songs often running on the dark side but with a
redemptive glint of humour.
